মো. কিসমত আলী

.Md Kismat Ali was born on the 6th February,1937 at the village Kachua Hat under police station Saghata in the then subdivision, Gaibandha, of the then Rangpur district in the then East Pakistan. He was the fifth and last child of his parents.

His studentship strated In January, 1942 at Kachuahat Primary School. Later he studied in Kachua Hat Junior School and after that he t took admission into clas VII of Bharatkhali High Schoolunder Shagata Thana of Present Gaibandha District and paseed the then Matriculation Examination in 1952. He passed the I.A Examination of Rajshahi University in 1954. He couldn’t continue his higher studies at a stretch due to his poor financial condition. That is why hehad to earn some money by imparting private coaching (for about four or five years) and then got himself admitted into Gaibandha College and came out successful in the BA(Pass) Examination of Rajshahi University in 1961.

After graduation in 1961, he took teaching as his profession in local Bharatkhali high school under PS Saghata of the then Rangpur district. At the end of the session 1963-64, he passed the B Ed examination and was appointed Headmaster of Chhayghoria High school, Gobindagonj, PS and Rangpur District. Afterwards, he served as the headmaster in three highschools (one after another) and took retirement from the post of Headmaster of Rangpur Suger Mills High school situated at Mahimaganj under the thana of Gobindaganj in the disrict of Gaibandha on the 6th February, 1994. In personal life he was married and father of five sons and three daughters. At the time of Liberation war in Bangladesh he lost his first wife, second son and a daughter in a mine explosion on the 3rd November, 1971.This tragic incident had a profound impact on his later philosophy of life He engaged his life to social welfare related work through writings and established a girls (Kachuahat Shaheed HRM Girls High School).

Besides ‘Justice’ he wrote Humanity and Kallyan (In Bangla). He passed his last days of life at Bonarpara, Gaibandha and breath his last on 24 December, 2023. Although Md. Kismat Ali, is no longer with us, his extraordinary work and talent have truly inspired us. We remember his great work with gratitude.
