ABM Shahab Uddin was born in a respectable Muslim family of Sonapur Union under Sonaimuri Upazila of Noakhali district in February 1957. He attended Chattogram Nasirabad Government High School, Chattogong College, City Govt. College and lastly from University of Chattogram in 1984, obtained M.A degree in Sociology. While living in Chattogram, he had been involved in the establishment of schools and colleges in his area and also in various socio-cultural activities. Later, from 1987 to 1990 in the NRDP-II project financed by Danida in Noakhali district, he had been working as a Upazila Coordinator and later worked in various non-governmental national organizations. He went to London in January 2006 for higher degree, came back in 2009 and joined the NGO again. Since then, he has been working in Dhaka Ahsania Mission, a reputed national level non-governmental organization. He has already published three Bengali rhyme books for little kids. Because of his work in educational programs, he felt the urge to write for children out of the sense of responsibility towards them. The name of his rhymes books are Korbo Barir ' Chander Deshe Karbo Bari; Phuler Sathe Pakhi Sathe and ‘Khokon Sona Chaander Kana’. He has also published two poetry books namely Hiyer Majhe Lukiye Chilea’ and ‘Antare Ogni Jolea”. In this Book Fair 2024 three rhyme books, two in English and one Bengali are going to be published. He regularly writes in online magazines and (English, Bengali) online groups.
