MANUAL OF PAEDIATRIC BASIC AND ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (Paperback)

Brigadier General Professor Nurun Nahar Fatema was born in October 1962. She passed MBBS (Obtained 2nd position) from MAG Osmani Medical college in 1985 and joined in Army Medical Corps of Bangladesh Army as a medical officer in 1987. She passed FCPS in Paediatrics from BCPS in 1995 and went to Prince Sultan Cardiac Center(PSCC) in Riyadh, KSA for training in pediatric cardiology and was appointed there as a senior registrar during her training time due to her sincerity, enthusiasm and dedication. After her return in 1998, she was appointed as chief pediatric cardiologist in CMH Dhaka. She has served as classified Child specialized in different CMHS and instructor in AFMC. Currently she is the Professor, Advisor and Head of department of pediatrics and Pediatric cardiology in AFMC & CMH Dhaka. Brig Gen Prof Nurun Nahar Fatema is the pioneer pediatric cardiologist in Bangladesh. She has established the concept of congenital cardiac interventions in the country and established the first ever pediatric cardiology unit of Bangladesh at CMH Dhaka in 1998. She has learned new innovations in the field of pediatric cardiology later by visiting many advanced cardiac centre like King Faisal Specialist Hospital KSA, Evelina Children Hospital UK, Narayana Hridayalaya, Bangalore, and attended many workshops organized by PICS-AICS in USA and CSI Frankfurt. She arranged technology transfer program on several occasions with renowned international proctors to transfer technology once it was available. She also had innovated many alternative procedures while working with limited resources and man power. She has attended all world congress of pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery (WCPCCS) since 2009 and all Congress of Asia Pacific Pediatric Cardiac Society (APPCS) since 2006 except the one held in Thaiwan.
She was working as country representative of Asia Pacific Society of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery in 2006 to 2008. She was the founder chairman of scientific committee of pediatric cardiac society of Bangladesh (PCSB) and organized first international conference on congenital heart disease in Bangladesh in 2009. She is the acting president of Child heart trust Bangladesh, Secretary General of Wadud Moimunnessa foundation, Chairman of Congenital heart desk Foundation (CHDBD), Chief advisor of Camellia Maryam Foundation, Vice president of pediatric cardiac society of Bangladesh and Life member of Bangladesh Pediatric Association, Bangladesh Cardiac Society, Pediatric cardiac society of India, Bangladesh Heart research_associations, Bangladesh society of Echocardiography, International society of cardiovascular ultrasound etc. She is also the supervisor of charity cardiac surgery program of Muntada Aid UK in Bangladesh. She regularly participates in many charity program for treatment of children with congenital heart disease.
She is the member of national drug and vaccine import committee and committee for producing guidelines for reuse of single use devices.
She has participated in many national and international seminars and presented 190 papers. She also has published about one hundred articles in many national and international journals. She was the guide and supervisor of 58 research, articles. She wrotes few books also. Her teacher and father of pediatrics late Prof. MR Khan recognized her as mother of pediatric cardiology in Bangladesh.
