যেখানে নদী যায় (হার্ডকভার)

This is a unique compilation of poetry. The poems from the first and last groups describe and portray many of the challenges endured by the underprivileged and lower socio-economic citizens of Bangladesh. These poems expose the injustice, exploitation, and manipulation by society and the government upon its citizens, who have been forced to live in extreme poverty due to war, invasion, political corruption, and indifference.

The disturbing issues surrounding prostitution, working in dangerous conditions, and living under constant threat are all addressed. These individuals are brainwashed to believe that their lives are worthless, and their existence is constantly at risk.

The poems in the middle describe happier times. The poet has written about other topics that have impacted his mind, emotions, and life. My personal favourite poem is “My Dear Darling River.” In this poem, the reader is given the opportunity and privilege to glimpse into the heart of the poet and discover the adoration and great love he holds for his wife and family.
