Since retiring from service for no fault of mine and without any reason whatsoever, I was initially very shocked so were all the officers and men under my command. During the liberation war I did commit a very grave crime "mutiny" as per Pakistani law, yet they convened a General Court Martial in camera and the trial went on for long three and half months and finally we were sentenced to death which the Commander in Chief did not confirm as both the prosecution witnesses who too were in our group were tortured and made witnesses. Then S Lt Shah Mohd. Hasan the only Bengali officer who helped us during 1971 did manage to deliver the notes to the witnesses in the underground cells and turned the witnesses hostile.

Therefore, we were sentenced to dismissal and long imprisonment. Here in our own country I was compulsorily retired for no fault of mine even though I was not on duty (being sick in quarter). I was just informed on phone that I was retired. Reasons unknown! Out of disgust.
