Musabbir Ahmad was born in the village of Mullargow Boro Bari, South Surma, into a respected booniyadjeen family. He began his education at Sadar Khola Primary School, completing his primary studies in 1956 before progressing to Raja G.C. High School. After passing his matriculation in 1962, he went on to study at the esteemed MC College. where he completed his BSc.
In 1970, Mr Ahmad left East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) and arrived in the United Kingdom to pursue further education, enrolling in a Chartered Accountancy course. His early years in Britain were marked by personal sacrifice, resilience, and a relentless work ethic. Like many immigrants of his generation, he faced cultural, economic, and institutional challenges but overcame them through sheer perseverance. Within months of his arrival, he began working while studying, supporting not only himself but also his family and relatives affected by the 1971 war in Bangladesh.
By 1975, he had entered the restaurant business, establishing multiple successful ventures across Surrey, Kent, and beyond. Over the decades, Mr Ahmad became a highly respected businessman and property owner, known not only for his entrepreneurial acumen but also for his integrity, generosity, and community leadership. At the height of his success, he managed a portfolio of restaurants and properties valued at over £6 million, creating employment opportunities and contributing to the British economy through taxation and civic responsibility.
Beyond his business achievements, Mr Ahmad is also a quiet philanthropist. Whether it was supporting friends and newcomers in need, helping relatives pursue education, or donating to causes both in the UK and Bangladesh, his contributions have uplifted many lives. Though much of his success was later undermined by systemic injustice, as detailed in this book, his legacy is one of dignity, courage, and unwavering belief in hard work and fairness.
This book is his testimony-not only to the highs and lows of one immigrant's journey, but also to the structural forces that too often remain unchallenged. It is also a gift to future generations, a reminder to protect what matters and resist with truth when justice is denied.
