দায়িত্ব পালন করেন করাচির আলিমিয়া ইসলামিক ইনস্টিটিউটের প্রিন্সিপাল হিসেবে, ছিলেন করাচির World Muslim Congress-এর রিসার্চ ডাইরেক্টর এবং মিয়ামির Islamic Institute for Education and Research-এর ডাইরেক্টরও। এছাড়াও তিনি ত্রিনিদাদ এন্ড টোবাগোর পররাষ্ট্র মন্ত্রণালয়ে কূটনীতিক হিসেবেও দায়িত্ব পালন করেন।
