ড. মোঃ আব্দুল করিম

Dr. Md. Abdul Karim is the Executive Director of UCEP Bangladesh and a former Principal Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh. He obtained B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. (First Class) degrees in Chemistry from the University of Chittagong, an M.S.S. in Development Administration from the University of Birmingham, and a Ph.D. from Bangladesh University of Professionals. He joined the Bangladesh Civil Service in 1979 and held senior positions including Economic Counsellor in Brussels, Secretary of Fisheries and Livestock Ministry, Chairman of the National Board of Revenue, Commerce Secretary, Home Secretary, and Bridges Division. Secretary. After retirement, Dr. Karim served as Senior Adviser of BRAC, Managing Director of PKSF, Chairman of Green Delta Insurance Co. Ltd., Adviser of Banglalink, and Chairman of IPDC Finance Ltd. He has lectured widely, authored books and articles on governance, development, MSMEs, and climate change, and participated in international forums, including UN Climate Change Conferences (COP), UN General Assembly Sessions, LDC Summits etc.
