Nasreen Taher is an educator and a contemporary fiction writer whose writing centres on the emotional evidence of conventional lives. Raised across cultures, she completed her elementary education in Durham, UK and her Secondary education in Michigan, USA. She earned her BA (Honours), MA and M.Phil. in English Literature from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Now based in Singapore with her family, Nasreen is married to a Master Mariner and is a mother of two children—a son and a daughter.

Having sailed across the oceans, she has been exposed to long passages, unfamiliar ports and many emotional consequences ---which subtly shape the environment and grounds of her writing.

Simultaneously, the witnessing of separations and the quiet resilience of the people who live between departures and homecomings gently influence the emotional landscapes of her fiction. Nasreen’s work focuses on trauma, dignity, silence and healing, with which she aims to create a reflective emotional link with her readers.
